Melly & Gaby

"Little Footprints"

How very softly
you tiptoed into my world.
Almost silently,
only a moment you stayed.
But what an imprint
your footsteps have left
upon my heart.

Put the rubber mouse away,
Pick the spools up from the floor,
What was velvet shod, and gay,
Will not want them, any more.

What was warm, is strangely cold.
Whence dissolved the little breath?
How could this small body hold
So immense a thing as Death?

Janji Kena Ditepati!

So my loyal fans, I have decided to stand for the elections this year. My constituency is Seputeh. I took it on my own, no one seems to be listening to me so since this is where I bred and brood, I declare to contest for Seputeh. I had to ask my partay secretary to prepare the logo, she came up with something really ridiculous. Looks like I just can't rely on others to do my job. I had an idea, why not I use my own face as a brand for the partay campaign? So, here it is.

Make sure you guys look for "Kucing Ginger" on the voting form ok. Don't look for Dacing, look for Kucing...K U C I N G! If you vote for me, I make sure you guys get endless supply of kibbles, premium kibbles, Fussie cat can food, Premium cat litter, Lotsa toys, Hi-Tech Toilet and most importantly endless supply of Cat Drugs! When you guys have time, come for my ceramah, I will be talking about how we cats are being treated in this country. How we as the felines could change the world, topple the bowl and eat all the kibbles! Ehh...I mean topple the government and take over the world (Sorry, got distracted there for a second)

Come bring your family, kids, neighbours and friends. We also provide mystery gift for the first 100 early birds! If You help me, I help You, if You no vote for me, then how to help You? Correct or not? So, ingat Tuan-Tuan dan Puan Puan, Cik Adik, Cik Kecik dan sebagainya, Undilah Kucing! ia itu Saya (Apa macam saya punya Bahasa, Ok?) I had to learn bahasa as You know I am kacukan cat. My mom Indian and my dad Mat Salleh but my fans 1 Malaysia :)

Happenings in Feb - March

Here's a little update on the happenings at FurryPies the last few month(s)

February 2013 News
This month was our Christmas wish came true for both Baby B and S & S Boys!

1. Baby BB or known as Baby Blanket Batros has gone to a very loving family. We received and still receiving constant updates on her almost on a daily basis. Recently, Baby B, now known as baby Blanks dropped in to visit us with a few self made toys. We truly appreciate the thought and the Slave was very excited to see her.

2. Then it was time to bid farewell to our S & S boys (Sunny & Sherbet). They too went to a very loving family, who infact started feeding them 4 times a day and the mom was so worried sick when Sunny refused to eat 1 meal :P We were so touched to hear how they are being pampered. It was very hard to let go, especially Sunny for the slave and Sherby for Bobby as both have blended well into our home but that shouldn't let us distracted from why we first of all started doing this. We received latest updates from their family. Here's the photo of them, looking chubbier and brighter

March 2013 News
It was our CNY wish came true!

3.Remember Mr. Foo Foo? He too paid us a little visit this month. Oh Boy, He has grown up so beautifully and looking very handsome and yes he's neutered recently too. He came for a visit with his brother Lily Boy. Both the boys were very close to each other and very well behaved. The slave was literally counting the days to their arrival. Here's a photo of them. Nope, Mr.Foo Foo didn't remember Bobby and he only remembered the Slave.

3. Fizzy, was the latest addition who came to us just the very next day after S & S boys left. After almost 3 weeks with us, we decided that she will be better off with her rescuer since we are too overwhelmed at this point and the Slave is no longer the energetic person you all used to know. It's not easy to foster and manage homestay when the physical work is never ending which leaves the Slave with not much time with the fluffies which is again, wont be fair on them. So for now the Boss,Bobby Batros decided that he would give the Slave a break to get back into 'shape', energized and be human again (incase you haven't noticed, she started to grow fur all over her body) before the Slave could continue her mission elsewhere.

Don't you think?

I don't know about you, but, for me, having a Ginger cat around has changed me. I love my Ginger cat. Btw, this is not my mom who posted this, it is me Bobby Batros. If I don't talk about my speciality then who else will? My mom busy with her Silvervine supplies, knocked out on the kitchen counter again *sigh* Looks like I need to prepare my lunch on my own..again!

Here's another thought for today for you by Mark Twain.

"If animals could speak, the dog would be a blundering outspoken fellow; but the cat would have the rare grace of never saying a word too much."

On Break

I am on a well deserved break until further notice.I haven't been blogging, I know, was too overwhelmed. I think our Fostering mission and FurryPies homestay is almost as old as me. I did all the work back to back while my mom just sat there and lounge around and watch Rajnikanth and Bruce Lee all the time! Sheesh!

So, I decided, that I am going on a holiday soon. Location, yet to be finalised, perhaps I go Cattery in Ipoh, visit my fellow mates there and exchange ideas or start working on my 6 pack abs.

Speaking of 6 packs, my next door chick Sophie won't even look at me when I'm doing my sit ups and push ups at the balcony. She's such a stuck up, but she's a real beauty. I wonder why Aunty Lynn never bring her to introduce to me. Ok, I think the rain just stopped. I must go out and get some tan. Need to match my new underwear my mom bought me.  Before I go, let me leave you with this quote by Garrison Keillor

“Cats are intended to teach us that not everything in nature has a purpose.”

You see me, you see happiness

Do you have plants at home or in your garden? Do you water them daily? Clean out the weeds and trim the over grown plants? Do you fertilize them, making sure they get enough sun light?  How do you feel when the plant in your garden starts to blossom?

Now imagine this,

You give me a little space n your heart and home, care and food, nurture me with lots of love and I too will  blossom beautifully within your eyes. I too will love you no matter who you are or what you are. I don't see what you feed me, I don't see how much of a big house you have, I don't see what you wear or what you drive. I only see that big heart you have, the heart filled with love, that's all I see.

I Baby Blanket Batros, soon will have a new last name, feeling very philosophical today. My foster mum have been playing Heart Sutra since morning and I thought I would want to share this with you. Yes, I no longer say "Mewk" that's for babies, I am now semi Baby Blanket Batros soon to be blossomed into a beautiful girl :)

I have always written the happy notes, the happy stories about kitties. Notes about kittens that have found happy and loving homes. Sometimes some silly stories on behalf of them and some cute photos of them. I have never once posted any sad news or about the little ones that came to my hand but left too soon.

You can call this as an obituary as I have never written a decent post about them in the past. Even to write this particular post, I had to pause a few times. I thought as time goes by, the pain will fade too, but I guess it won't unless I write down how I felt and feeling now.

The little ones who came to me, who stayed with me for a short period of time, that left too soon, I think I owe them an apology. An apology for failing to full fill the promise that I made to them, or perhaps the trust their rescuers had in me. I think of them very often. So, here it goes, not many have met them but they were with me briefly.

When a kitten finds a home and leaves, I often think about them, they could have been part of the happy ones left to live with their families. But,sadly enough, they didn't make it.I do blame myself for it, sometimes I think I did all I could, sometimes I ask, have I really done the best?

I am listing them down here not as statistics or to show how much of a great work i have done. I am listing them down here to show how important it is to neuter/spay our pets when the time comes. It is heart wrenching to see newborn kittens being abandoned by the road side or in a box with umbilical cord still attached. How are they going to fend for themselves?, have we ever gave that a thought? And some lucky ones get rescued but doesn't make it to enjoy the comfort of a home. Not only cats, even dogs face the same fate on a daily basis.

This pictures also can be a reminder that strays are infact can be our responsibility if we want to take up that responsibility. We don't have to be an animal lover to curb stray population by doing a small part. For example take a stray adult cat to get it neutered when we encounter one. Each person were to catch and neuter 1 cat or a dog a month, that will make a lot of difference, but again, it is a matter of our choice, are we a willing participant or just be one of the many among who points the fingers at someone else.

It's Time

This a long over due Thank You note, to those who gave us assistance when we needed the most. When the remaining kittens goes to their new family, it will be just me and my Bobby. Before we go senile and start forgetting things, just like some of the impending posts, we better do it now.

So here it is, our sincere Thanks &  heartfelt thanks to many so we gonna list them all down accordingly

  1. Our sincere Thanks to KTAJ - Mira, Nerq, Rina namely to graciously sponsor medical bills of KISS Clan when our pockets were tight. Allowing Mia & Tiggy to find a loving family also making us part of KTAJ family. We appreciate the assistance, thank you is an under statement here.

To Lynn & Jon Co - for all that countless vet visits, including midnight SOS calls, bringing us, the sick kittens to the vet, for providing kitty sitting service when we were in tight spot, for lending us a ear when times were difficult. What would we have done without you? We cant thank you enough.

  11. To all the kitties that came by FurryPies, made this home such a joyful place to be, filled with lots of love and happiness although sometimes a little too unbearable, most importantly, teaching us valuable lessons and lots of fond memories, constantly reminding me that love has no boundaries. I am forever Thankful to you. I could only take a comfort that I gave you my best.
  12. Last but not least, our sincere gratitude to Mark, our Dad, for sponsoring our food, medical for countless kitties and allowing us to share your home, patiently waited till we found our homes, sacrificing your personal time during your yearly trips so we don't have to be away boarded elsewhere. How can we ever Thank you?
  13. To Bobby, for being so tolerant, understanding and for sharing your love with the kitties. I love you for that and I am thankful you came to me and will be with me when the journey continues if time permits.
Our sincere apologies if I have missed out any names or persons in this post.

Our mission has come to a halt but to be continued soon at a different time and location.

Thank You

Today is a very special day for me and my mom. Why special day? We were graciously invited by Tiggy Sr & Mia's family to visit them after 7 month they left to live with their new family. We are very excited and mom is very nervous at the same time. Mom asked me "Will they remember us, Bobby?" Well, will they remember us? We will find out today.

Ok I gotta get ready, need to do my manicure, pedicure and brush my beautiful shiny coat. I wanna look the very best for my babies..I adopted babies, who are not babies anymore. Do you think they will come and suckle on my manboobs as how they used to when they were teenagers? Do I need to wear a T? I can hear my mom already started her morning blabs, "Bobby brush your teeth, Bobby, wipe your face, Bobby, check if you have any fleas, Bobby this..Bobby that" *sigh*

S&S Twins Ready for a Family

Both Sunshine and Sherbet are from ISPCA (SPCA Ipoh) shelter. They are now in KL looking for loving family and a home. Both cats have been fully vaccinated,de-wormed and neutered.Although both are not from the same litter but both look like twins. Both have same type of tail and colour patterns. Both are inseparable.

1.Sunshine (Male, about 5 months)
He's very curious, very cuddly, quite friendly to strangers and a very loving playful boy. Loves his food and quite independent. Quite a relaxed boy and well behaved, meaning he doesn't scratch sofas and furnitures and doesn't climb on dining tables. He has a very funny meow, that sounds like a tokay (gecko) :P

2.Sherbet (Male,about 4 months)
Quite a funny boy, he needs to have his time to get to know strangers, otherwise he's just like Sunshine, very playful, loves his food way too much! Loves tummy tubs, not afraid to hide in handbags and usually the first one to run to answer phone calls :) Whenever the mobile rings, he would dash out wherever he is to the mobile.

Both boys would make a very lovely companion. Please write to us at if you like them to be part of your family.
